Dave Murray of Iron Maiden – I am both honored & humbled to be able to tell you that the legendary Dave Murray has (2) Voodoo Amps Platinum Modified JMP-1 preamps he’s been using on the most current run of Maiden’s 2017 ‘Book of Souls’ tour. Dave’s Guitar Tech Mr Colin Price was kind enough to snap this close-up photo for which we are so very grateful (thank you Colin!) Maiden is among one of a select few artists that can still sell out the biggest venues in the world & that is truly impressive on every level. We are so very proud that in some small way we were able to be a part of Dave’s tone. On The Road & Back with Peter Frampton

Yesterday we spent the day with the fine folks who are out on Peter Frampton & Steve Miller tour. It's an amazing show with top quality musicianship, amazing songs & a stunning array of cherry-picked vintage guitar gear. I'm a gear head & being able to look through Peter's rig was a true pleasure. Both Steve & Peter have amazing guitars on tour but there were (2) that personally spoke to me. The '54 Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty that is pictured on the album cover of 'Frampton Comes Alive' is on tour & being played every night as is the '62 Gibson SG that Peter used in Humble Pie.

Naturally the older Modded Marshalls (we did not Mod them), Dumble Modded 68' Fender Deluxe, Leslies, vintage effects & more were to die for. A very special thanks to Peter Frampton who's incredibly funny, gracious & extremely talented, Aidan Mullen who is Peter's Guitar Tech (much love to you friend) & the entire touring crew for both Frampton & Steve Miller. It was a true pleasure in every way & great for the soul. Peter's ears are incredible & its always inspiring to talk shop with someone who has the same ears, love of gear & passion for tone. - Trace Davis, President / Founder

Joe Perry of Aerosmith 2017 Rig Rundown

Joe Perry of Aerosmith 2017 Rig Rundown - Most of the amps have been covered here on on our News Page as well as on our Facebook page(s) except the Custom 'JP30', which I initially designed for Joe. We’ll post a more in depth write up shortly as it’s actually a very unique design. The vintage NOS Vox logo was one that was laying around in the Aerosmith warehouse from back in the day. This was applied after the amp left our facility as a way of to paying homage to achieving classic vintage tones from a new design.

This video starts at the amp section but if you want to see Joe’s pedal board just start the video from the beginning. If you have any questions about Joe's amps please feel free to ask. We would like to thank our dear friends at TC Electronics & Joe's tech Marco Moir for making this video.

We've worked on all the amps in this video with the exception of the Supro, which is stock. The Marshall Super PA amp is Modified as are the (2) Fender Dual Showmans & the Marshall 'Pump' amp (which was also Modded back in the day), all of which are covered in depth here on our Facebook page(s). For the record there is no affiliation between Vox & Voodoo Amps.
