"Hi Trace, I'm not usually very eloquent when speaking about gear, I often get overly emotional or not interested at all. Well, the mods that you guys at Voodoo have done to my JMP-1 brought me from feeling indifferent to feeling like a crack head!! I now want to send all 3 of my Marshall heads your way for the same fix! 

Since I only have one unit (JMP-1) at the moment, I don't even use it at the show. I keep it in my studio for recording & any really fun stuff as I'm only on the set on "The Tonight Show" for 1 hour or so & it's a waste to have it just sit there the other 23 hours ~!!~

As soon as I get a 2nd unit it WILL be a part (and main "go to" box) of my stage rig for TV. I'll let the specifics of tone & player response be worded by other more verbose individuals...I'd like to get back to blazing through this thing :) I hope you can find some quotes, or use it all if you like :) My biggest endorsement is to actually USE a companies products & you guys do great work. Thank YOU!"

Some behind the scenes tidbits; In the late spring of 2010 Guns N' Roses had just wrapped up a leg of the tour when Richard received a call asking if he would be interested in taking over guitar duties in Thin Lizzy from departing guitarist (and Voodoo Endorsee) Vivian Campbell as Def Leppard was gearing up for a Summer Tour of the USA.

"We built this amp as a V-Rock Single Lead 100watt and Richard toured with it for a couple years with Guns N' Roses. I later made some custom tweaks to it, which became the foundation for the two (2) prototype 'R4-100' amps that I built for Richard." - Trace Davis, President / Founder

Richard has used the R4-100's with GnR for over two (2) years and is now using then on the Uproar Fest 2013 with the band the Dead Daises! Be sure to watch the end of the video! - Steve Senes demonstrates how easy it is to dial in a sound similar to Eddie Van Halen's celebrated "Brown Sound" with the Senes Modded Marshall DSL100. All overdrive is from the amp & no overdrive pedals were used. Speakers used are Warehouse Guitar Speakers Veteran 30's & HM75's loaded in an X-pattern & loaded in a 1979 Marshall 4x12" cab. The cab is mic'd with (2) Sennheiser e609 Silver mics & recorded with Apple Logic Pro. Guitar used is an ESP LTD EC1000 w/Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge & 59 in the neck position.

Custom Modified for Brad Whitford of Aerosmith - "The Mod is best described as our Mid-Drive Mod™, which is what I would call 'Vintage High Gain.' IE: The amp retains the tone of a plexi but has more gain on tap for improved sustain, harmonic content as well as legato passages. You can set the amp up for a nice rhythm or lead tone and then roll down the guitar’s volume knob to clean up the tone. Over all, if you are in standard tuning and are using 10ga strings, the amp feels like your using 8ga or 9ga strings. It's very smooth and easy-to-play but it also retains a great rich-n-chunky low end. Very inspiring to play on! We also installed our 'Anti-Hum Mod' as there was some residual hum. The amp now runs extremely quiet and no noise suppression or gates are needed on stage or at front-of-house." – Trace Davis, President / Founder
