CUSTOMER SERVICE

We want to make sure you are 100% happy!

  • You're family — in the noble quest for tone we are all family. It doesn't matter if you are playing sold-out arenas, playing the club scene or just playing for your own enjoyment.
  • Emails — We try to reply to emails with as much detail as possible but we also receive between 75-100 emails a day so to ensure that we fully understand the tones you want to achieve please call us at the shop so we can talk with you more in depth.
  • Stay abreast — if you have questions, please feel free to give us a call.
  • Ah, satisfaction — We want you to be 100% happy when you get your amp back! If we feel that we cannot honestly achieve what you are looking for we will decline to perform the work on your amp and happily refer you to another tech or company.

Honesty is the best policy — it's the only way we do business.

 

TURN AROUND TIMES

  • What is the average turn around time? — At present approximate turn around times for Standard & Deluxe Upgrades are 5-7 business days. Platinum Upgrades are 5-7 to 7-9 business days. 
  • Can you turn my amp around faster? — Rush orders are accepted. Rush fee is an additional 50% of the total bill less shipping/handling costs.

Note: Turn around times are longer if we have to de-mod or repair your amp. Extra work takes extra time.

Note: Turn around times may be lengthened at certain times of the year. If you are on a tight schedule please check with us prior to shipping your amp.

Do I have to include the Upgrade-Form™? – An Upgrade-Form™ must accompany every amp being shipped to Voodoo Amps®. Note: If the Upgrade-Form™ is not present with your amp, an additional fee of $25.00 will be applied – no exceptions.

What if I purchase an item off eBay?
1.) Instruct seller to place your name on the outside of the package where it is clearly visible
2.) Call us with the tracking number 
3.) Fax the completed Upgrade-Form™ to us - Fax# (607) 330-0272 
3.) Call us to confirm your information - No work will begin until information is confirmed

Do I have to type out the info? – Yes. Hand written forms can be difficult at best to read – no exceptions.

UPGRADE PROCESS FAQ's

What do I do after I've shipped my amp? – Call us with the tracking number and we'll do the rest - this will let us know when your amp is scheduled to arrive.

How do I know when my amp has been delivered to you? – Your tracking number will confirm the date and time of delivery. UPS , FedEx , DHL

What happens when my amp arrives? – We take digital photos as we unpack each item in case damage has occurred in shipping. If damage has occurred a Voodoo Amps® representative will notify you immediately and email you a PDF file of the unpacking process.

Will you test my amp before Upgrading it? – We first audio test every item - we then test all main functions to ensure they are working properly - Once we have confirmed item is in perfect working order we begin the Voodoo.

Do you give daily updates? – We are ranked as the largest Upgrade & Modification company in the USA and modify 350-450 amps a year. In order to keep turn around times as short as possible we forego daily updates.

What if I have questions? – Call the shop (607-256-0465) - it's the fastest and easiest way to get in touch with us.

What if my amp needs new tubes? – Once the Upgrade have been completed we will test and asses the tone of your tubes. If we feel your amp sounds better with new / different tubes we will call you and make recommendations accordingly.

Will I get a receipt? – An itemized receipt & packing slip will be attached to the outside of the package. 

Will I get a tracking number? – Yes, tracking numbers are automatically emailed to you. If you do not receive your tracking number in email please check your spam & junk email folders. You are also welcome to call us Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM EST (NY time) at 607-256-0465. 


GENERAL FAQ's

What is your payment policy with in the USA or Canada? – We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover. This includes credit, debit, check & bank cards, etc. We also except postal and bank money orders. 
Note: A processing fee of $50.00 will be applied if credit / debit card is declined.

What is your payment policy for international customers? – We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover. Where do I find the security code on my credit or debit card? - For Visa, MasterCard & Discover it is located on the back. It is a 3-digit number followed by 4 numbers. For American Express/Amex it is a 4 digit number on the front of the card. See example

Are your Upgrades serviceable? – Yes, all of our Upgrades are 100% serviceable and our craftmanship, soldering, etc is amoung the very best. 

How should I ship my amp? – Please see our shipping page.

 

Can I purchase transformers from you and either install them myself or have my local tech install them? –- Yes, you can purchase all transformers from us directly. Transformer diagrams are included. Voodoo Amps does not provide technical support.

Can I order tubes from you? – Yes, we sell tubes to both our customers as well as the general public. If you would like to re-tube an amp that we upgraded please call us with the numbers on the base of the tube and we can send you replacement tubes that are direct drop ins - no biasing is necessary.

What if my amp needs to be re-capped? – If your amp needs to be re-capped we can accommodate your needs and only stock high quality filter capacitors. Pricing varies from $79.95 to $299.95 (prices vary depending on make/model of your amp, number / type of caps, etc). If your amp needs to be re-capped we must do this before any modifications are performed - No exceptions.

How often do I need to recap my amp? – To avoid tonal degradation, unwanted hum and noise or potential failure in the power supply your amp should be re-capped once every 10 years.

What do your Upgrades entail? – Upgrades include but are not limited to; Upgrading key components / parts for improved reliability, performance and feel such as coupling & bypass capacitors, key electrolytic capacitors, transformers, etc. Voodoo Designed Upgrades are 100% safe, fully serviceable, reversible and reliable. We take pride in quality craftsmanship and our work is among the cleanest in the industry.

Note: Modification prices do not include – Repairing an amplifier, bad tubes, de-modding an already existing mod within the amp (repairing damaged traces on PC boards, etc.), replacing microphonic or otherwise bad pre-amp/power tubes or any other faulty or worn out components. Modification prices do not include return shipping costs, re-tubing amps, etc.

Important  Your amp should be in 100% perfect working order before you ship the amp unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. We schedule work tightly in order to keep the turn around time to a minimum. Repairing or De-modifying an amplifier is a flat rate of $100.00 an hour plus cost of the parts - If any repairs are required we will advise you before any work is started.

If I do not like the Upgrades will you convert the amp back to stock for free? - We do not give refunds on Upgrades and nor do we convert amps back to their stock form free of charge. Please make sure this is what you want before you ship your amp. If you have any questions or concerns please call us first.

Do you warranty Mercury Magnetics transformers? – Voodoo Amps® warrants all Mercury Magnetics transformers to be free from defects in material and workmanship, if properly installed, under normal use for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase, and by the original owner. Defective transformers will be replaced or repaired at our discretion. To the extent permitted by law, the foregoing is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties or representations whether expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness. In no event shall Voodoo Amps® be liable for special or consequential damages. All warranty returns are examined by our engineering staff to determine the exact cause of failure. This warranty is void if your transformer has been tampered with.

UPGRADE WARRANTY INFORMATION

What our warranty covers
Voodoo Amps® warranties all circuitry work performed by Voodoo Amps® for 30-days from the date of shipment. All warranty claims must be accompanied by original sales receipt/invoice.

Warranty does not cover
(1) Damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, improper installation or operation, rental, product modification or neglect
(2) Damage occurring during shipment
(3) Damage caused by repair or service performed by persons not authorized by Voodoo Amps®
(4) Products on which the serial number has been altered, defaced or removed
(5) Original manufactures warranty
(6) Stock tubes, filter caps, transformers, sockets, etc.

Who this warranty protects
This warranty protects the original owner who had the work performed.

What Voodoo will do
We will repair (at Voodoo Amps® discretion) circuitry covered by warranty at no charge for labor or materials. If the product or component must be shipped to Voodoo for warranty service, the consumer must pay initial shipping charges. If the repairs are covered by warranty, Voodoo will pay the return shipping charges.

How to get warranty service
(1) Take defective item and your sales receipt or other proof of date of purchase to your authorized Voodoo Amps® Dealer or Authorized Voodoo Amps® Service Center; OR
(2) Ship defective item, prepaid, to Voodoo Amps® (www.voodooamps.com). Include a detailed description of the problem via our Repair-Form, together with a copy of your sales receipt or other proof of purchase as evidence of warranty coverage and an RMA# (return materials authorization). Properly complete and include the Voodoo-Repair-Form™

Limitation of Implied Warranties
Any implied warranties, including warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the length of this warranty. Note: Some states do not allow limitation of how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Exclusions of Damages
Voodoo Amps® liability for any defective product is limited to the repair the product. Voodoo Amps® shall not be liable for damaged base don inconvenience, loss of use, lost profits, lost savings, damage to any other equipment or other items on the site of use, or any other damages whether incidental, consequential or otherwise, even if Voodoo Amps® has been of the possibility of such damages.

Note: Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
